Medical Support for Kristian Chappius McDonald
Kristian Chappius McDonald a vibrant, bright eyed, 18-year-old Senior at St. Francis Borgia Regional Highschool, who, after overcoming more obstacles than a child his age should have to face, is currently fighting for his life.
On the evening of July 5th Kristian was in a horrible car accident that has left him in a coma. He has a terrible brain injury (Diffuse Axonal Injury) with severe trauma to the entire brain. In addition to the head injury doctors were forced to remove a portion of Kristian’s right arm. They will be evaluating him again in a few days to determine if more of his arm will need to be removed.
The goal of this campaign is to help Kristian’s parents, Bryan and Lisa McDonald, cover immediate medical expenses and to cover the costs of Kristian’s long-term recovery. Anyone who has met Bryan and Lisa will tell you that they are two of the most giving, loving and caring people you will ever meet. In fact, Bryan and Lisa weren’t originally Kristian’s mom and dad but rather his aunt and uncle.
2.5 years ago, just as Bryan and Lisa were settling into their retirement years, fate threw them a bit of a curveball leading to the adoption of Kristian, his three sisters Josie, Olivia, Lillian and his brother Arik. Brian and Lisa have since devoted every ounce of their free time and energy building a loving, and nurturing home environment for the kids to grow.
The medical expenses the family faces because of Kristian’s situation have the potential to quickly become untenable. The family needs assistance covering those expenses while protecting the foundation they have worked so hard to build for their new family.
