Medical Expenses for Kevin Doyle
Donation protected
Hello real life friends and internet friends alike. We're Sean and Terrence Doyle, and we're here to ask if you'll donate to a fund to help mitigate some of the financial burdens thrust upon our father, Kevin Doyle, by a recent leukemia diagnosis.
In December, 2018, just before the holidays, Kevin was told he has leukemia. It was devastating news for our family (especially given that we lost our mother to lung cancer in 2003). Three months of chemotherapy and long hospital stays later, and the bills are beginning to pile up. And treatment isn't even over yet — Kevin still requires a bone marrow transplant.
Fortunately, our father has health insurance. Unfortunately, his job was recently eliminated, so he finds himself in a precarious financial position to say the least. On top of all that, his health insurance doesn't cover everything — and getting cancer in America is expensive. Like, really, really, really expensive.
Our father doesn't love the idea of asking people for help (it's a generational thing), but that's kind of absurd when you consider his entire adult life has been dedicated to helping others. Whether as a baseball coach or as the president of Amesbury Youth Hockey or as a member of the Newburyport Wall of Fame Board or as the sports editor of the Daily News of Newburyport (a job he did for nearly three decades), our father has always given back to his community. Now we're hoping the community can return the favor.
We're hoping to raise $20,000 to defray some of the costs associated with our father's medical treatment, and to help him make ends meet while he's sick and out of work. We're appreciative of any amount you can donate, small or large, and thank you all so much for your help in this time of need.
