Jeanne Senecal is a longtime resident of Montana, and graduated from Helena High School in 1977. She married Dan Senecal in 1980, and joined him in the ranching business for about 20 yrs. In 2003, Jeanne became a realtor and joined Dan in the real estate business. Jeanne is no stranger to hard work, and has put in her overtime in over the years. Recently, her life has changed.
Jeanne was diagnosed with stage 2a breast cancer 3 years ago, and has been in remission. Late December, Jeanne had higher than normal blood cancer markers. The doctor had her come back in a month, and in early February she had a PET scan. The scan revealed her cancer was back and metastasized to her bones (3 locations: sternum, T12, sacrum and possibly in a right lung and a lymph node). Her diagnosis is terminal Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Late February, Jeanne’s insurance approved a second opinion and she headed down to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Phoenix, AZ. There she received encouraging news that the doctors have many options for treating her cancer. The doctors recommend an infusion every 2 weeks to help with her bone density. She will also be taking chemo pills orally. Jeanne has already had one infusion, but she still hasn’t been able to get on the chemo due to a hold up on funds for this very expensive treatment. All paperwork has been sent to the insurance company, and she is waiting for a reply to see what they will pay for. A hardship request has also been submitted to the chemo company to see if the chemo drug can be bought at a reduced price, but it has been denied.
All funds raised will go towards Jeanne’s medical bills and travel costs to AZ for the treatments. At this time, we don’t know what Jeanne’s insurance will pay for. As more information becomes available, we will keep you updated. Approximate monthly treatment costs are $20-$30k. This includes travel, food, doctor bills, and treatments (infusions and chemo). All help is greatly appreciated.
