Unfortunately, Jared Lacy, our dear friend and husband of our beloved coworker, was admitted to the hospital on 12/22/20, due to complications of a nearly month-long bout with COVID-19. He is currently in the ICU, undergoing treatment for these complications.

His wife, Gioja, has been a cornerstone of our community and has dedicated her life to serving and taking care of grieving families, never cutting corners and always expending all of her energy to be there for those who need it most. Jared has been there to support her all of the way, especially during this extremely difficult and emotionally stressful year for those in the funeral profession. Due to Gioja being a frontline worker, she was exposed to COVID-19, resulting in Jared being exposed as well.

In addition to this, Jared and Gioja have had to deal with even more misfortunes this year, including a tree falling onto their home and causing substantial damage. Expenses have built up, and they are under insurmountable financial stress due to the repairs needed to their home and now unexpected medical expenses. 

This is not a family who asks for help, it's typical of them to put others' needs before their own in every possible scenario. Gioja is a natural caretaker, and we hope that the community and those that Gioja has touched will meet her family with the same love and support as she did them. Any contributions are deeply appreciated and will be helpful in allowing Jared to focus on healing.
