My mother-in-law, an avid runner, lover of traveling, and the sun her kids revolve around, is in dire need of help. In the beginning of August, the unimaginable happened. As she was doing what she loved, she was struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian crossing Zora on the trail. After receiving CPR on the scene, she was transported to a hospital. From there, she immediately underwent brain surgery and femur repair surgery. Along with the brain injury and broken femur, she had multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a shattered eye socket, a broken hip, and a broken ankle. Following the surgeries, she was in a coma for a few weeks in the ICU. She remained in the hospital to receive life saving care for several more weeks as she has continued to heal and recover.
As you can imagine, her hospital bills are astronomical. Her recovery is far from over. She will need long term care, physical therapies, and other basic supplies as she continues to heal. TBI recovery is hard to predict and we are unsure of how long these things will be needed. Anything you can give is appreciated so deeply by her family. Please keep praying for them through this incredibly difficult time.
