Our family has experienced yet another tragedy. Harper(10 years old) is in the ICU at UC Davis Children's Hospital. Harper fell out of a tree while picking cherries with her family. She is now facing a long recovery as she has four fractures in her spine as well as two fractures in her skull. One of the brain fractures has caused a brain bleed, and the other has a blood clot. She is having MRI's every couple of hours to monitor. As of now it is touch and go with treating the blood clot that is on a main vessel while she also has a brain bleed. They are monitoring her constantly for speech and motor skills and hoping the blood clot does not dislodge before they can treat it. They are doing everything possible to avoid brain surgery, but they are not confident at this point that surgery won't be the outcome. Her grandparents Sherry & Robert as well as her father Steve are staying in Sacramento with her, and expenses are adding up very quickly. This is going to be a long road and any help is sincerely appreciated!
