On Monday, December 19, Grayson had a doctor’s appointment after a weekend of bloody noses, an elevated temperature, and feeling sluggish. At the doctor’s office, they ran some bloodwork and quickly sent Grayson and his dad to the University of Iowa Stead Children’s Hospital. After a glut of additional testing, Grayson was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The testing has also shown a medial mass is putting pressure on his heart and lungs. By 7:30 Monday night, Grayson was equipped with a pic line and dialysis port. Dialysis was started to alleviate the electrolyte imbalance due to poor kidney function. Grayson will remain at the University of Iowa Stead Children's Hospital in the pediatric ICU for the foreseeable future.

Grayson will get the best care that he needs to be able to fight his journey to be once again himself. This is going to be a long journey and anything will help to lessen the burden financially for the family on what insurance will not cover.
