SUPPORT SIS. GERTRUDE B WRIGHT'S RECOVERY JOURNEY

On Sunday, April 23, 2024, Sis. Gertrude B. Wright had an unfortunate fall while leaving Sunday morning church services and heading to her vehicle with two of her great grandchildren. As a result of that fall, she suffered a fracture to her C-4 and C-5 spine, a concussion, a fractured right Tibia, and a torn ligament in her right wrist. She underwent emergency surgery on April 29, 2024 and has since been hospitalized. She is not paralyzed, but the spinal injury has caused her to lose the use of both of her arms, which is why she needs continuous care and therapy. As of Saturday, August 31, 2024, she will have exhausted all of her insurance and Medicare benefits and will become a "private pay" patient, meaning all caregiver and medical transportation expenses will be out of pocket. The family's goal is to provide her with a private caregiver, occupational therapy, and physical therapy within her home as she continues to recover.
