Medical Expenses for FRYE STRONG 2.0

Jon Frye is a Deputy Chief at Loveland-Symmes Fire Department. He was born on May 20, 1973 and raised in Milford, Ohio. Jon is supported by his loving family and his girlfriend, Mollie. He is also surrounded by his LSFD family and many friends near and far. Jon is always so giving towards others, now it’s our turn to repay the favor, as Jon now needs our help and support!

As most of you know, Jon was diagnosed with AML (Leukemia) in 2014 and received a bone marrow transplant from his brother, Kevin. Jon has been in remission for the last 9 years! Two weeks ago, Jon went to the doctor for a routine physical. The next day, the doc called with the horrible news that his blood work did not look great, and he suspected Jon’s leukemia was back. Jon immediately made an appointment at the oncologist for the next day. They did a bone marrow biopsy and discovered that, in fact, the leukemia had returned. Jon was admitted to the Juliana Prince Cancer Center in Jewish Hospital on Monday, November 13, 2023 to begin his fight against leukemia once again.

Jon has a long fight ahead. He has already received a week of inpatient chemotherapy and will remain in the cancer center for about 30 days this round to make sure he is in remission before they can build his numbers back up to go home for a short while. They are searching the database for donors as we speak because he is in need of another transplant with a different donor. He will need more chemotherapy throughout this process, as well as several medications, tests, biopsies, and hospital stays. This is a lengthy process, and although Jon and Mollie are both still trying to work as much as possible, getting Jon healthy and fighting this leukemia is their number one priority.

While Jon and Mollie both have great support systems, the financial burden of the medical expenses that will be accrued will be exponential. Let’s try to relieve some of that burden for them, so they can focus on getting back to a happy and healthy life!
