I'm starting this fundraiser for Gary & Shannon to help with expenses for their 15-month-old, Evie (my niece). One of their family dogs uncharacteristically attacked their sweet Girl on the afternoon of 5/11. She was transferred from Huntsville Hospital to Children's Hospital in Birmingham, requiring the skilled work of a maxillofacial specialist at Children's due to the extent of the injuries to her sweet little face.

Thankfully none of her injuries were life-threatening, but they're going to take some time to heal. You can imagine that this little ray of Sunshine is confused herself, & now in extra pain as a 1-year-old.

It was a very long day for everyone involved as they did not get home until almost 3:00 in the morning. She seems to be in a little better spirits this morning, but still a confused & hurting child.

Mom & dad are obviously concerned for their child in the midst of a tragic event & keeping their focus on taking care of her. I'm starting this ahead of the medical bills in hopes that we can help meet those needs before they arrive. I know for a fact that Gary has gone above & beyond for so many people, never asking anything in return himself. I'm hoping those people he's helped are willing to reach out & help above & beyond in his time of need. Evie is going to have some recovery time ahead of her, & both parents have a lot on their plates to balance (including Gary working 2 jobs) while caring for their child while she heals. All the funds from this fundraiser will go towards Evie's medical expenses, anything beyond the goal will go towards helping their household during rough times.
