Medical Expenses for Eastons Brain Injury

Donation protected
Hi my name is Hali, my best friend Alexandrias son (Easton, 2yo) fell off his brothers bunk bed Friday afternoon and sadly has some serious injuries. Him and his family will need some help during his recovery, as they will need to take some time off of work to give him the care that he needs all while caring for their 2 other children and all of the unexpected medical expenses that may occur. This family would do anything for anybody in the time of need.
His loving and caring family asks for all your support through positive thoughts, prayers, healing energy and loving light. Any contributions shared with us can go a long way to help cover medical costs while his parents support his healing journey.

Updates from Alexandria, Eastons mom:

Update on Easton. Sorry for the delay, thank you for the continued prayers everyone. We are still in PICU, not sure when we will move. In the MRI they did find a skull fracture. It’s very small, they said they took it a minute to even find it. But the bleed is pretty huge. 4X1.6 cm. Don’t Google it like I did.
But easton is struggling with some things. He cannot walk correctly. But they said where the bleed is, is his cognitive functions. So hopefully when swelling and bleeding heals itself he will be okay. It’s a possible that he could have certain things, like these silly tics or outbursts, be permanent. It’s going to be a long recovery. He pretty much will be babied. He can’t walk without assistance. Or pretty much do anything alone for at least 6 weeks when we go home. He finally just ate his first meal we have been trying since last night. He did great. All of the doctors have praised us for being so persistent and for bringing him back in. The surgeon looked at me and said you just saved his life by bringing him back to Hurley for the second time.
As I was writing this update they came in and said they are going to continue to watch him on his neurological exams especially the walking, eye twitching and tongue. (He randomly just sticks his tongue out when talking). But they are going to continue to watch him for signs that the bleed isn’t worse. He’s a little fighter. He’s definitely not chill laid back easton anymore. But that’s ok again thank you for the continued prayers!

Update on Easton, he was airlifted to u of m at 2 am this morning. He took a fall from Luke’s bunk bed around 12:30 yesterday afternoon. I immediately called an ambulance because he was lethargic, they took us to the hospital because they also were concerned. Hurley actually sent us home without testing him for anything other than feeling his head for two seconds and saying they would watch him for a half hour. I was super unsure asking if it’s okay on how he was acting. (Not wanting to hold his head up for longer than a few seconds and also screaming in pain saying ouch) went home. Then he started to vomit. So we took him right back, that dr then did a CT on him. She came back into the room explaining to us he has an epidural hematoma. And how they are in the process of getting him transferred to u of m.
Then they came in to tell us that he is going to be airlifted, I was not allowed to go with him. Hardest thing I ever had to do is leave him. They proceeded to tell us when we arrive he will more than likely already be in the OR…
We managed to get there before the neuro surgeon even called us. He told us easton is in the “in between” right now. His brain bleed is large, but with it being 12 hours past the time of the incident it’s possible it’s at the peak of the bleeding and will resolve. So instead of jumping to surgery at the moment, we are in the PICU and they are monitoring him every few minutes. Checking his neurological symptoms and vitals. He still cannot eat or drink in case they take him to OR. But as of now it is on hold. We will see the neurologist this morning around 9. So I will update when we can. Please continue to pray for Easton, please.
