Medical Expenses for Dion Walker
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, My name is Vanessa Walker. I am Dion's eldest daughter.
Dion Walker, 48, was on his way to work this past Monday (6/27/2022) when he was in a head-on motorcycle accident with a vehicle. Dion was on the motorcycle and was hit at high speed, causing him to fly through the air before landing and suffer many injuries.
Thankfully, he survived the initial crash but is currently in the Natividad hospital ICU in Salinas. He has had a vast amount of surgeries and procedures completed, with more pending in the upcoming weeks as well as recovery period.
Dion is the father to three children, the youngest being only 9 years old. We are all very concerned and dealing with so much at this time. As you can imagine, there remains a great deal of unknowns with Dion's future. Myself, along with my younger siblings (Alex and Kacie), all want to dedicate this time to focus on our father's healing process and may need support from families and friends to make this possible.
At the time of the accident, my dad was unfortunately in between health insurances so we are unsure of how much of his medical expenses will be covered. Financial strain, stress and worry of the incident has already become an issue.
Dion has always been very involved with softball and the community. Anything donated is greatly appreciated during this immensely difficult time. Please show love, support and prayer in any manner you can. My dad, and our family, are greatly appreciative for your love, donations, support and prayers.
Thank you to all!!

7/2/22 - Update!!
My dad has had many surgeries over the last 5 days, and has done very well with each one. He has remained intubated and under sedation, controlling his pain level. The hopes are to try to wake him and increase alertness and remove his breathing tube over the weekend. However, may be some days before that’s possible. He has more surgeries in the coming weeks, but we are making little progress each day which is what counts right now.
Myself, and my family, are feeling so overwhelmed with all the love from the community. I can’t thank all of our friends and family, and friends of friends, that have gone above and beyond with sending us love, support, prayers and all the donations for my dad. We are so incredibly thankful and I know my dad will be too!!
7/21/22 - Another Update!!
After six surgeries, my dad is finally out of the woods and on a long road to recovery. Unfortunately, he will not be able to put any weight on his legs for the next 45-60 days which requires him to be in the hospital therapy unit for another 3-4 weeks. We were not prepared for him to be staying so long, but we are doing our best to keep him afloat mentally, physically and financially. Myself, and my family, are so thankful for everyones support. Please, if you can, share this.
Thank you so much for all the love and prayers!
