Medical Expenses for Desi

Desi is working hard on healing! Desi has a rare condition called MALS (Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome).
For those of you who don't know what MALS is:
When the diaphragm is lower than normal, it can cause a compression on the celiac artery and the ganglion nerves causing pain when eating, drinking, or positional movements. The pain is comparable to end stage pancreatic cancer; however many doctors are still unaware of the condition and instead of compassion, patients are often misdiagnosed with an eating disorder.
Desi has been waiting her entire life for this diagnosis. We started noticing pain and intestinal issues when she was only 6 weeks old. For the longest time we just had no idea why she was in pain. We finally just got the diagnosis 4 years ago. Unfortunately, we were on a waiting list this whole time for surgery due to how rare it is. There are only 6 doctors in the United States that perform this surgery. While we are finally making these final steps in healing and getting back to a normal life, the reality is that Desi will always need to be under a doctor's care to monitor her progress, diet, weight, and digestive system.
With all of this being said, people have been asking how they can help. Prayers are definitely what we are asking for most. The amount of medical bills we are quickly adding is a big challenge. While we are still able to have Desi on our insurance, we are still out of network and paying a lot of out-of-pocket expenses. Both Kim and Dave's biggest concern is that Desi is now 19, and any debt that is left unpaid will go onto her credit. We'd like to pay off all of the out of pocket expenses for her so she doesn't start out in medical debt, especially with her and Alex are just about to get married. Unfortunately, the credit does not go on Kim or Dave's credit report due to Desi's age.
Any funds raised will go directly to medical bills, prescriptions, copays, and deductibles.
