Medical expenses for David “Mark” Wannamaker

Our friend and fellow bus driver, Mark Wannamaker, lies in a medically induced coma after being stabbed multiple times and his face slashed, by simply offering a ride home.  His car was stolen and his injuries are life threatening.  The retina of his eye has been detached and surgery performed to repair but they are unsure if the eye can be saved.  The stab wounds in the abdomen are awaiting surgery at the moment, as soon as his body stabilizes for the next procedure.  

We are all coming together now to try and raise enough money to cover the expenses that insurance will not cover.  Mark will be out of work for a very long time, possibly may never be able to return to the job that he loves, transporting children to and from school.  

So, please, if you could find it in your heart to donate to Mark’s medical expenses, we would be forever grateful.  Please keep Mark and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Addition 2/21:  Mark did lose his eye in this tragedy, and he also has paralysis on one side.  It’s sad that he will not be able to transport kids to and from school anymore, but it’s a blessing that we still have him with us.  We are unsure of what his needs will be when he gets out of the hospital so if we continue to share this page and also come to the fundraiser on the 27th, we can at least take some of the burden off the family.  They appreciate everything that this community has done, from the donations, shares, prayers, and kind words.  See you Saturday!!
