We are so sorry to share that Dave passed this afternoon after a week of unexpected and unimaginable tragedy.
Today has been full of overwhelming grief, but more importantly love, compassion and comfort thanks to everyone who has supported David and Alicia through this difficult time.
Dave, the warm and generous spirit that he was, would have wanted everyone to know how grateful he is for the kindness that everyone has shown so far, and for your continued support during the long road ahead as we all process the reality of life without his humor, talent and irreverent spirit.
While our hearts are so heavy, we remember that he and Alicia made each other's lives more beautiful and we are so grateful to have been a part of their story. // 6/9/19***
***UPDATE 6/6/19*** We are terribly sorry to share the news that we've received from the neurologist today; David has suffered severe brain damage as a result of loss of oxygen to the brain when he had the heart attack. His brain stem is functioning, but he is still not responsive or aware of his surroundings. We're told that it is unlikely that he will regain cognitive function, though we will continue to wait for a couple of days to see if any healing occurs. Thank you so much to everyone that has contributed, reached out, and shared this page. Alicia is so grateful for and moved by the outpouring of love and support through this devastating time. As we approach the one week mark for David's hospitalization, we've increased the goal for this fundraiser. There is a lot that is still uncertain, and we will update this page as we learn more. With our hearts extremely heavy with pain, fear and sadness we're anxiously waiting for news that David will recover from a recent and sudden cardiac arrest that occurred on Sunday morning, 6/2/19. His condition is severe and has been in an induced coma since arriving to the hospital.
We're calling on our friends, family and community to help alleviate some of the financial burden that he and Alicia will face as a result of medical expenses; they are unfortunately without insurance and resources are very limited.
Any and all donations will be so appreciated in addition to love and support for David and Alicia during this incredibly scary and uncertain time.
