Carlos and I traveled to San Antonio to spend New Years with his family. The whole family went dancing at a local bar the night before NYE when an argument led to a shooting. Carlos was not involved in that argument but was shot several times and rushed to the emergency room where he underwent 2 operations that lasted over 10 hours. He was shot in the left knee, right thigh, left arm that needed a plate and screws, several shots to his side/backside and the most damaging were to his abdomen. They cut and repaired his small intestine in several places and now has a temporary colostomy bag. After a week, his abdominal incision wasn't healing properly so a 2nd operation was performed and they discovered a tear in his small intestine and a 2nd colostomy bag was needed.

We are still at the hospital in San Antonio without an idea of when he'll be discharged and able to go back home to Vegas.
