Last April, our father, Cande Sanchez, became ill. As a family, we didn’t think much of it. He was tired, had a slight cold, and had the stomach flu - typical common cold symptoms. After two weeks of not getting any better, he went to see his doctor, and they took some blood work. During this time, we noticed his eyes had become yellow, and it was clear something wasn’t right. He had developed jaundice and the bloodwork, along with a biopsy, proved that there was cancer of the pancreas.
He has been battling stage 3 pancreatic cancer for over a year now. Going to numerous chemo and radiation appointments and constant trips to Mayo Clinic. Our dad has remained positive, faithful, and optimistic. On June 20th, he’ll be receiving a life-altering surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Any donated funds would SOLELY be used for medical expenses and to support our mother as she’s been our dad’s rock and caretaker throughout this endeavor.
Our dad came to this country with nothing and has supported our entire family of four throughout. He’s worked at Anderson Erickson Dairy for 30+ years and still does what he can there while preparing for his operation. He’s our rock, our superhero, and no doubt he’ll come out on top.
On behalf of the entire Sanchez family, we sincerely appreciate you.
