On November 11th, my husband, Billy Ahumada was in a tragic ATV accident. He and our daughter, Macy, were on their usual father daughter ride when they went up over hill with soft sand. He was literally crushed when the ATV rolled on top of him. He was rushed to the hospital here in Vicente Guerrero. They immediately transferred him to a trauma hospital in Ensenada, two hours away.

Billy sustained many fractures. Ribs two through nine are broken, front and back. His collar bone is broken on the left side. He also has a small spinal fracture - thankfully he can stand on his own.

Billy had surgery November 14th so they could place titanium clips along the fractured ribs.

Billy is a wonderful husband and loving father. This tagedy has impacted our family immensely. Our hearts are heavy during this time of struggle. The thought of our wonderful, fun loving dad that we are used to having around is lying in agony in a hospital is unbearable.

This has been extremely stressful and heartbreaking for our family. I am currently driving four hours a day just to have even a moment to be by his side. To see him laying there struggling to breathe, unable to talk - there are no words that can describe the pain I’m carrying.

I will be able to bring him home in five days. Until he can be fully mobile, we will have a hospital bed in our living room. This is going to be a long road to recovery.

I am reaching out to those who are willing and able, to please help us raise funds for the cost of surgery and the medical equipment that will be needed here, at home. There will also be follow up appointments, medications and travel expenses for all the traveling back and forth.
