Medical expenses for baby Griffyn

Griffyn Richardson was born on May 14th 2020 at 2:54am. First time parents Joelle and Deryck were over the moon in love with their baby! They got to enjoy him for only 12 hours before doctors noticed something wasn’t quite right with baby Griffyn. After drawing blood and checking his platelets, they discovered they were dangerously low. Griffyn was taken by ambulance to Children’s hospital in Omaha, NE where he remains in the NICU. He was diagnosed with a virus he contracted in the womb and will require a 6 month antibiotic treatment. During this time Griffyn will remain in the NICU and the amount of time he will spend there is unknown. Baby Griffyn has proven to be a strong little guy and is continuing to fight! Joelle and Deryck spend most of their days and nights in the NICU with Griffyn. With the COVID-19 virus, policy changes have been made at the hospital and unfortunetly only one parent is allowed to see Griffyn at a time. The funds raised from this will go directly to Joelle and Deryck in hopes to ease some of the financial stress from medical bills, time off work, etc.
