Medical expenses for Amy Potter

My name is Amy. My story started a little over two years ago when I was informed that I have stage 3 rectal cancer. As a very independent single mother raising two daughters on my own, succumbing to a situation out of my control became an emotional battle. After multiple surgeries and chemo treatments along with radiation being added to the concoction it appeared I was out of the woods. Even though I had lost everything due to this evil disease, my friends and family stood by my side through this life changing event. My last surgery, radiation, and chemo treatments were in the summer of 2019. The radiation and the chemo nearly killed me, literally. I started back to work in September 2019 before getting approval from my doctor. I was determined to get my life back. Fast forward to March 2020, I started to see some light at the end of the tunnel and then suddenly I was laid off due to the pandemic. I recently discovered that I have an infection in my jaw that is deteriorating my bones and gums as a side effect from the chemo regimen and is currently in my neck. The infection is slowly making its way to my lungs which can ultimately be fatal. To prevent any further damage it will require me to have surgery. The price tag is just north of $40k and insurance will not cover any of the cost, deemed cosmetic. I am currently unemployed but looking at a restart date within the next few weeks. Although this surgery will more than likely be yet another set back with my employment status. I didn't ask for this trial and I struggle even writing this letter however I'm asking for your help. The stress and burden I feel I'm putting on others seems too much to bare. Time isn't on my side and if there is anyway you can help me and my family with this additional difficulty, it would be greatly appreciated. Even the smallest donation can make a big impact.
