Medical Expenses for Aaron Jacobs
Donation protected
On June 21st, Aaron mentioned a toothache and some jaw pain. He ended up at his doctor's office on June 23rd, then went to the dentist on June 24th and had two teeth removed. Everything seemed normal until Tuesday, June 28th, when he went to the local ER because the swelling and pain got worse, and they decided to transfer him to Bismarck to a larger facility. Aaron spent the night of June 28th in the ICU. Wednesday, June 29th, he was transferred via ambulance to Fargo to see a specialist and had surgery that evening, removing two more teeth and installing drain tubes.
July 1st (after surgery #1)
He was released on July 3rd and spent the 4th of July at home.
On June 5th, he was back at the Emergency Room in Bismarck and immediately transferred to Fargo. He had another surgery later that evening to install new drain tubes to relieve the swelling.
July 7th (after surgery #2)
He continued to get better and was looking at being released on July 12th, when he had a setback. Minimal news was shared until Claudia visited him on Sunday, July 17th. Aaron had hoped to be released. He was denied the opportunity, and instead headed in for surgery #3, to reinstall drain tubes because the swelling came back.
July 17th (Post surgery #3)
On July 19th, he had significant bleeding issues in his neck where the drains had been installed. It bled for a few hours before they headed to the operating room to do exploratory surgery to find the bleed. Fortunately, he made it to the OR to discover the bleeding had stopped on its own, saving him from surgery #4.
He continues to heal and has had all the drain tubes removed. He’s looking at some recovery time once he can come home but is looking forward to returning to work!!
Moral of the story: Always take care of your teeth and don't ignore the little pains in your teeth!
