Medical Expenses For TANK & DAN

Dan & Tank are a team like no other. Dan is a professional dog trainer in Simsbury, and his sidekick Tank is always there to help and see through that the pups graduate from his program! Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting these two are lucky :) Dan has done amazing work with puppies/dogs and will continue too.


On 7/5/2020 between 7am/8am there was a  physical encounter between Dan, Tank, two dogs he was caring for and a BEAR in the McLean Game Refuge off Firetown Road. 

A bear attacked Tank and then Dan as he was trying to save his dog. Tank was on the trail next to him. They heard rustling in the shrubs, Tank started barking and then they saw a bear come out charging at them and it grabbed a hold of Tank.

The bear redirected and then  bit Dan as he was trying to save his dog.... When this was happening Dan let go of his clients dog Lucy to and she got away - she was missing for about 24hrs, but has now been found and gotten home safely.  The other dog and his dog Tank ran back to his car and waited for Dan to come back.
 
Tank went to the vet immediately and has been taken care of. he is now home with Dan with a lot of damage to his back area  with two drains, and several lacerations and a lot of stitches, he will recover but it will be a long road... & lots of ice cream as Dan says...   Dan himself got bit as well, and has gotten medical attention and we are praying for a speedy recovery for both.
