Medical Emergency Expenses for Tony Matamoros
Donation protected
We are writing this on behalf of our father Tony Matamoros.
He is a diabetic who unexpectedly became severely ill while helping a family friend with a construction project in Michigan. He went into diabetic keto acidosis and spent 4 days clinging to life in the ICU. By the grace of god he survived and was slowly recovering but the doctors still fought to contain a severe staph infection ( MRSA to be exact) that had developed on his right foot.
Unfortunately after a week of extensive antibiotics and 5 painful surgeries the doctors reluctantly made the decision to amputate his right leg above the knee in order to save his life.
As you can imagine this has been a very difficult time for our family. My father has always been there for us no matter how bad times got. He's all that we have after our mother passed away in 2006. He is a kind, loving, hard working and generous man who is loved by all who meet him. He is being strong and positive, in light of all that's happened in the last two weeks.
My father is semiretired and only does small jobs to supplement his income. He does not currently have medical insurance.
It's with great reservations and the utmost humility that we ask any family, friends and anyone that can find it within their heart to help our family raise cash to supplement the upcoming emergency medical bills and unexpected transportation costs to bring him back to New Jersey.
Thank you all for the multiple texts, messages, love and prayers in regards to our father.
God bless you all! Happy Holidays
Oscar, Julio and Pamela Matamoros.
