Medical expenses & bills for Jennifer Adams
Donation protected
My name is Mary (or Mar)--I'm the youngest child of Jennifer Adams, who is 54, and was recently diagnosed with a rare, very aggressive form of stage IV uterine cancer. The process of getting a diagnosis and treatment plan was abnormally long. My mom was in the hospital for a total of 13 days to try and control her pain and it took them 5 biopsies to confirm the cancer (apparently 95% of cases only need 3 or less biopsies to reach a diagnosis). She will be starting pallative treatment mid-June via a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
My mom is the most generous, vibrant, silly, joyful, resilient, and genuine person I know. She's the heart of our family and immerses her full self into every community she's been a part of, whether that's her many families, Church communities, school communities, or just people she meets out and about in Portland. She loves to sing, dance, write, play her tambourine, and laugh whenever possible. The world is a better place because our mom is here.
She has been unable to work due to her hospital stays and severe pain. Her husband, Kama, also has to take time off of work to support her. It has been and will continue to be a significant financial burden for our family. We (her children) are raising funds for mom and Kama to help supplement that income and pay for additional expenses related to the illness such as transportation to and from the hospital (they live an hour away) and medical bills.
We appreciate any and all support--whether that's re-sharing this post, donating $1, or more!
