As some of you may have heard, our beloved brother/son has had a terrible incident occur. Evan had another massive stroke on September 28, and had to have immediate lifesaving brain surgery the following day. Following the surgery, the brain trauma was tremendous. He was put in a medically induced coma for two weeks, and woke up a week ago. He has trouble staying conscious, and we are unsure of what the outcome will be. Doctors say he will need months, perhaps years of therapy and a long road to recovery. We take it day by day, but all we know is that he will remain in a hospital/facility for a while, and medical bills stack up. Any help is GREATLY appreciated! This time has been extremely tiring for my whole family and we do appreciate all the love and prayers
Backstory of Evan’s life
He was just 5 years old when diagnosed with a very rare brain tumor. He was diagnosed with ATRT and given a low survival rate. He beat all odds and survived. He went through chemotherapy and radiation. He had his tumor removed and went on to live a healthy life. Until the age of 12, Evan suffered a stroke. He was left paralyzed on one side of the body, and with the help of physical and speech therapy, he was able to make a full recovery. He then was diagnosed with epilepsy and had several seizures a day. He was put on many medications to control his seizure activity. Evan constantly would fall when having seizures while standing, and they are not preventable. As he would fall, the damage to his body was irreversible. The doctors discovered a blood clot in his brain in which they could not operate due to the location. Eventually with the falling, he ultimately suffered a brain bleed in which led to his second massive stroke, just 10 days after his 28th birthday. As apart of his family, we are devastated to see the stage of his health now, and this is without a doubt the worst he’s ever been. We just want the best care for him, and for him to hopefully, by the power of god make another full recovery, as he once did before. We know he is so strong and he can prove everyone wrong once more. Again, any help is appreciated and we love everyone for being there for us during this difficult time! Thank you!
