Buying Medical Equipment for Debretabor Hospital

በደቡብ ጎንደር ኣስተዳደር ዞን ብቸኛ ሪፈራል ሆስፒታል የሆነውና ከሁለት ሚልየን በላይ ህዝብ የሚያገለግለው የደብረታቦር ሆስፒታል ከፍተኛ የሆነ የህክምና መሳሪያዎች እጥረት አጋጥሞታል። በአሜሪካ የሳንባና ጽኑ ህሙማን ሀኪም የሆነው ዶክተር አለኸኝ እጅጉ ባለፈው ጥር ወር ወደኢትዮጵያ ተጉዞ ደብረታቦር ሆስፒታልን በጎበኘበት ወቅት አንድ የአስም በሽታዋ አገርሽቶባት መተንፈስ የተቸገረች በሽተኛ ስቃይዋን ሊቀንስ የሚችል በእንፋሎት መልክ መድኃኒት የሚሰጥ መሳሪያ ባለመኖሩ እንዴት ከሞት አፋፍ ደርሳ እንደተመለስች ነበረውን አስፈሪ ሁኔታ ታዝቧል። 

ሆስፒታሉ ቀላል ከሆነው የኦክስጅን መጠን መለኪያ መሳሪያ ጀምሮ እስከ ውድና አስፈላጊ መሳሪያወች የሉትም። ከከባቢ አየር ኦክስጅን ሰብስቦ ኦክስጅን የሚስጥ መሳሪያ፣ኢኬጅ፣ተንቀሳቅቃሽ የራጅ ማንሻ ወዘተ በሆስፒታሉ ውስጥ የሉም። 

ሆስፒታሉ ሊኖሩት የሚገቡትን ሕይወት አድን የሆኑ የህክምና መሳሪያዎች ለመግዛት ባለመው በዚህ የጎፈንድሚ የገንዘብ ድጋፍ መሰብሰብ ዘመቻ በመሳተፍ ደብረታቦር ሆስፒታልን የመዳኛ ቦታ ያድርጉ። ስለእርዳታዎ እናመሰግናለን።

Dear donors,

Debretabor Hospital, the only referral hospital in South Gondar Administrative Zone and serving over 2 million people, is in dire medical equipment shortages.  The shortages range from a simple pulse oximeter to other lifesaving medical technologies. Dr. Alehegn Ejigu, a pulmonologist and critical care physician practicing in the U.S. and visited the hospital in January, witnessed a patient with an asthmatic attack gasping for air with no nebulizer to open the airways and relieve her suffering. There are not enough oxygen tanks, concentrators, IV infusion pumps, and suction machines that patients critically need during medical emergencies. The hospital has enough good-hearted physicians and nurses trying their best to save lives empty-handed.

The challenges the hospital faces are enormous, with multiple holes to patch, but we can help reduce the burden if we lend a hand to mend few pieces at a time.
