Help for my sister and her family

Donation protected

**update at bottom

Hello, I am Jacki Henderson. I am fundraising for my sister, Mandy, her husband, Jeremy Booth, and daughter.

On the morning of 5/2/23, Jeremy was heading to work at the intersection by Walmart and the High School, he was involved in an accident when a minivan turned in front of him. His motorcycle slammed into the van and he crashed over the top of the vehicle. Thankfully, his helmet prevented any trauma to his brain, but he was taken to PPGH where they discovered severe breaks to his arm and leg and compartmentalization syndrome—he was then transferred to JPS in Fort Worth for emergency surgery. He completely shattered his elbow, broke his arm, and his leg and knee are also broken. He spent most of the day in surgery yesterday. He is stable now, but his leg is so severely damaged that he will require additional surgery in a few days.

This hospital stay will be lengthy and he will be in a wheelchair for foreseeable future, he will also need more surgeries in the future, physical therapy, and rehabilitation/medical equipment for their home. His road to recovery is estimated to be months long and this also puts him out of work during that time.

Unfortunately, we are also being told the other driver did not have insurance, so this puts a greater financial strain on Mandy and Jeremy. Mandy works as a Life Skills Aide at Graford ISD and will be taking off while Jeremy is in the hospital in Fort Worth. The drive back and forth is expensive, and the months ahead will be as well, on top of their monthly expenses and bills, and groceries/gas.

Any help is appreciated. Jeremy is strong and will overcome his injuries, but the road to recovery will be long, tiring, and very costly.

If you can donate anything at all, financially, Mandy also has Venmo (@amanda-booth-39) and cash app ($MandyBooth88), along with donating on this gofundme. If you are wanting to help in other ways, groceries for the family would be appreciated as well.

Thanks you to anyone who sent prayers, good thoughts and healing vibes and to those that helped after the accident. ❤️

**Update 5/5/23
from Mandy:

Well he’s home temporarily. Second surgery Monday and then we will see where to go from there. We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has checked up on us, reminded me to eat, made sure our mental health was as good as it can be, took Chloe to school and bringing her home, cleaning our house, and the list goes on and on. And to those who graciously donated or Venmoed or cash apped me thank you so much. It’s allowed me to breathe and already made so many things we need for Jeremy’s care possible. Eventually I want to thank everyone individually but just know I see y’all every single one and it’s just overwhelming. We love all of y’all. We will be home until Monday please feel free to message me if you would like to visit!

Surgery went well. They were able to reconstruct the knee. Lots of bone grafts and screws and plates but the leg is back together and the knee now resembles a knee again and not mush. We are home now.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped. I don’t even have the words to express my gratitude to you all.
