Hi,
My name is Gurpreet Kaur and currently I am an international student currently living in Calgary, Canada. Last week, while searching for a job, I slipped on the snow and I got severely injured my right leg. I was unable to stand or move, and an ambulance took me to the hospital. The doctors confirmed that my leg is broken from two places both the upper and lower part.
I was charged $1,100 for the plaster treatment, which I had to borrow from a friend. As I am currently unemployed, it is extremely difficult for me to manage these unexpected medical expenses.
My financial situation is very challenging. My father passed away in India, and we had to sell our house to support my move to Canada for better career opportunities. My mother is alone in India, and my younger brother is in Grade 9. They are not financially able to support my medical treatment or travel expenses.
Due to the severity of my injury, I am unable to sit in a normal economy seat for about 18-24 hours flight, as I cannot bend or move my leg. For medical reasons, I require a business class seat so that I can keep my leg straight and travel with less pain and risk.
I am seeking financial assistance to help cover the cost of my flight to India so I can continue my treatment there, as medical care is significantly more affordable for me at home.
Any support would mean the world to me during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Gurpreet Kaur
