Medical Emergency, Lack of Work, and Trying to Survive

Hello there,

My name is Shaun Cichacki, and I am in dire need of help. I left my position in July of 2025 in an act of solidarity after a coworker was unfairly censored while doing her job. While this was absolutely the correct thing to do, a few additional things have popped up that have caused more grief than my wife and I could have ever imagined.

My wife, Katie, has been suffering from near-daily seizures since this time, and neither she nor I has Health Insurance. This means that medical bills, ER visits, and her being unable to go to work due to pure exhaustion and stress have reduced our monthly income to the bare minimum. I've been trying to take on freelance work in the meantime, as I work from home to be readily available in case of medical emergency, and I've reached a dry patch in my current workflow.

Even if I were to find a job today (which I could only hope and pray would happen), it will be a while before we are caught up on bills. I typically don't do things like this, and I'm frankly saddened that I even need to do it right now, but I need help. I'm asking for help to cover the basics, like paying rent, getting slightly caught up on medical expenses, and everything in between. If you can donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Even if you can share to hopefully get the word out, I would be ecstatic beyond words.
