MEDICAL EMERGENCY FUND FOR SHAUN DUVAL

Making this for one of my most dear friends, Shaun Duval. Shaun is wonderful human being, and is desperately in need of help.

After many years bringing us joy in KC with his trademark un-smile, Big Veg took his talents to South Beach.

After an unexpected and devastating divorce, Shaun moved to Puerto Rico for a fresh start, and a years long financially, emotionally, and physically devastating chain of events began to unravel.

March 2017- moved Puerto Rico to DJ

Sept 2017- hurricanes Irma & Maria

2020- earthquakes in Puerto Rico

2020- Covid hits

Fall 2020- unable to find reliable housing in Puerto Rico, earning a living as a DJ has been difficult for several years in Puerto Rico at this point

April 2021- first stroke

June 2021- mother diagnosed with Leukemia, sold car to get back to Kansas to help care for his mother

Dec 2021- other passed away

Jan 2022- hospitalized with Covid 19

Sept 2022- sold all DJ gear and moved to Tampa in hopes of new employment utilizing his skills as a web designer.

Sept 2022- hurricane Ian hits within two weeks of Shaun moving to Tampa

Oct 2022- soon after returning from evacuation due to Hurricane Ian, Shaun has a major stroke.

Currently, the right side of Shaun's body is paralyzed. He has difficulty eating and drinking, and cannot perform daily tasks on his own. He's had multiple brain and heart procedures.

Shaun has a long road to recovery, and will be in the hospital for the foreseeable future. He is unable to care for himself right now, but when he can, he also needs a safe place to live.

Shaun not only needs help paying for his medical bills, but he will also need to find safe housing and transportation to and from therapy, once he is well enough to leave the hospital.

He's been through so much at no fault of his own, and I really hope we can make a difference in his life.
