Medical Emergency: Financial Help Needed

My name is Liv Taylor and I am Jessica and Amanda Taylor's daughter. It is with great sorrow that I request support in taking care of my mother financially while she is fighting for her life.

My mother (Jessica) has been battling her illness (Achalasia) for several years. In the last two years, her health has severely declined. She has financially supported herself through 3 major surgeries (one of which was experimental), despite the fact that she has been in the hospital nearly continuously for the last 2 years.

On Sunday, February 11th 2024, my mother lost the ability to breathe for herself. A simple flu has turned into a pulmonary embolism, pneumonia and sepsis. She was placed on a ventilator and sedated into a medical coma to allow her body to fight the infection.

My mother’s loving wife, Amanda, has stayed by her side as she has battled this illness, taking on the role of primary caregiver to keep my mother alive. As a result, neither Amanda nor my mother can keep up with the skyrocketing costs of living.

We worry that if my mother is able to fight through this infection, she may have no home to return to once discharged from the hospital. I have watched my mother move mountains for those around her, and I beg those that know her to move this mountain for her, for Amanda, and for our family.

We do not know when/if my mother will be well enough to come off of the ventilator and leave the hospital. While our family endures this horrible time, we humbly ask for our community’s support in making it to the other side.
