Hi my name is Amy Louser, and my brother, David Finch and I are coming together to seek help for my mom. This nightmare started on June 5th when she was acting delirious and not herself. We decided to take her to OGH, and was told that she had a mega infection, that made her kidneys go out of whack , that then caused her heart enzymes to increase and make it look like she had a heart attack. After a few days, we were told she had sepsis, and that they were going to start her on dialysis for her kidneys, because she was in renal failure. This seemed to help, she had an angiogram, which came back negative, but the her kidneys were still a problem, which she had to go three days a week, and they were having a hard time keeping her blood pressure under 200/116. I was told just to keep an eye on it. So she went home, stated she never felt any better than when she was in and a week and a half later, she was back in the ER, as she didn’t know where she was at home, and was talking of the wall. We were told she had pneumonia, and COVID. Everyday after that she got worse. Friday she knew me, Saturday she screamed and screamed help, but was not in pain and did not know me. Sunday, she was nonverbal and transferred to the ICU due to her blood pressure and her kidney numbers increasing. Monday she was a little better, but still couldn’t talk, but did know who David and I were. After her dialysis yesterday, she is much better. She is eating a little more.
We are asking for prayers first of all because she has such a long recovery. She will never be the same. She has renal failure and CHF, and is on dialysis now. She lives with my handicapped sister who is functioning, as many of you know that know my family, but she is on a fixed budget, and she is now faced with so many bills. Just both hospital stays, the ICU stay, she will need special equipment to get around that she will need to contribute to, she has copays for new prescriptions. And most of all being on dialysis.
If you can help in anyway, my brother and I would appreciate, and most of all my mom would. We didn’t even tell her we were doing this. She’s just been so stressed when she’s with it about how she’s going to pay for the added bills from the hospital, and we told her not to worry about it. If you can’t contribute, please just pray for my mom!! She needs that the most. Thank you so much.
7/6/23 Update today. I went to the hospital today, and she was out of it again. She thought she was in the basement of her house, and she doesn’t even have a basement. I was told by the Dr. that she is very critical. Please pray for my mom, she’s going to have a long road to recovery. Thank you.
