Help a Single Dad Care for His Daughter with a Rare Genetic Condition.

Hi.

I'm Serge.

I'm trying to raise money to help pay for my daughter's life saving medications.

If you live in Bathurst, you might have seen us out walking around town.

Victoria is a special needs girl.

Victoria is on a special diet and is fed through a feeding tube.

I make her food, I Bendi it with a blender.

And feed her with a syringe thru a tube that is attached to her feeding button on her tummy.

Victoria has a severe case of Scoliosis, as well as a rare metabolic condition Called "Severe MTHFR deficiency".

This condition causes her to have global developmental delays, amongst other issues.

Victoria was a very sick as a Baby.

And Her mother was not able to stay.

She left when Victoria was three months old..

She is followed by metabolics at IWK and her metabolic condition is moniterd closely.

Due to medical mistakes in the past,.

Victoria almost lost her life on 3 seperat occasions.

She has been through more surgeries and procedures than I care to count.

Obviously.

It has been a verry difficult 14 years.

But we are not giving up.

Im a Gas and Oil buner mechanic.

And I have relocated 8 times in order to work.

I've worked for several different companies.

I even started my own business at one point.

Hoping it would be a bit more flexible..

But The more I try, the more I seem to be falling behind.

Without the proper supports in place.

Accompanied with frequent school issues and hospitals visits.

I have not been able to keep a job for verry long.

My reason for starting a " Go Fund me" is because I can no longer afford her life saving medications.

Because Although her medications used to be coverd in the past..

I am now informed that it is no longer a recognised medication by the Government of NB.

And so, I have been paying for them with my Credit cards.

But I am falling behind on my payments and it won't be long before I default..

And it worries me Beacause, Sometimes Credit cards are all you have when things take a turn for the worst.

In the meantime.

I am writing to the local authorities to try and find a solution for the long term.

Also I am trying to relocate to Moncton so we can be closer to IWK and hopfully have more services and activitys for Victoria .

I still have hope that with the proper supports.

I might be able to go back to work and properly provide for her.

Victoria faught verry hard to be with us today..

And she deserves better.

It does hurt my pride as a father that I have to ask for help..

But if I dont speak up soon.

I might not be able to buy her medications at all.

And so.
