Recently, our family has been faced with an unexpected tragedy. We were preparing for a major surgery for myself scheduled for February when my husband, Ryan, suddenly required emergency surgery. Unfortunately, the first surgery was not successful, and a second surgery was necessary. What should have been a routine surgery turned into a major catastrophe.

This unforeseen healthcare crisis has placed us under significant financial strain due to overwhelming and unexpected medical expenses that we were not counting on. As a result, my surgery has had to be postponed due to these financial hardships. While we are grateful to have my husband Ryan home with the kids, he is our sole provider, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead is incredibly difficult for our family.

Whether you know Ryan or our family, our story is not unique, and a health crisis like ours can devastate any family. Currently, Ryan’s treatments require him to spend several hours in a hyperbaric chamber to help his healing over the next few months on a daily basis. This cost alone is extremely expensive and necessary before he can go to the next phase in his treatment.
