As a lot of people know, my daughter’s father was admitted to a smaller hospital for pneumonia. Within a few days, he rapidly declined. He started having kidney failure, some heart failure, and was on a ventilator. His pneumonia was so significant, they suspect an underlying autoimmune disease that’s causing his body to attack his small blood vessels. His lungs are bleeding, kidneys are not filtering toxins, and had to be shipped to St. Louis Missouri in Barnes Jewish hospital. He was in very critical condition and has small blood clots in his legs and lungs. They might be able to put in filter to keep his DVT’s from going to his lungs, but can’t start heparin cause he might start having more bleeding than he already has. His mother had to buy a plane ticket with a one day notice that was very expensive and will not have income for the rest of the summer. I am off work until it is safe for him to come home. Lodging so far is up to $840, and could possibly be more depending on how long we are here with him. I have received help from coworkers and applied for crisis fund that I hope to be approved for. We have normal bills, expensive daycare, and travel expenses. His mother has no income for the rest of the summer. He may require treatments and close monitoring for the rest of his life. A lot of people with this condition have to be on disability and require a strict drug regimen to prevent flare ups and pain management. She does not have an option to apply for any kind of assistance for her not working to be with her son during this unfortunate crisis. We have 2 beautiful children that people have been gracious to help take care of, and they need their daddy. As a single income for a family of four and his mom is single income for her household of 2, any little bit can add up to help us be able to be with him during this scary unknown outcome. As well as possible appointments with specialty doctors to follow up his care permanently. Anything given in our family’s time of need is greatly needed and appreciated. 
Thank you for all the prayers and help so far, and anything else people can help with if able is deeply appreciated during this difficult and unexpected medical emergency. I will remember everyone’s kindness and will pay it forward in the future. This has been the scariest experience I have ever dealt with, and I will support anyone who has to go through a situation like this in the future.
