Hi,
My 11 year old daughter has had her life turned upside down since September this year, she was previously a confident, kind, happy little girl who played football for a team, sat her 11+ exam, loved school (no joke she loved school).
In September she started showing signs of anxiety and ocd type behaviour, this very quickly escalated to a point that Veronica has been off school since October, she cannot walk anywhere I have to carry her, she struggles to eat and sleep.
I am trying everything under the sun to get help for her, I have Bupa health insurance which is covering the cost of private psychiatry and to see an immunologist as I believe she may be suffering from Pans, here is an overview of that is:
Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) and Paediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) are two related paediatric disorders that can have a profound impact on a child's life.
PANS and PANDAS are thought to be autoimmune disorders that occur when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the brain, leading to inflammation and a wide range of neuropsychiatric symptoms. These symptoms can include sudden onset of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), tics, restricted food intake, developmental regression, anxiety, depression, irritability, and even hallucinations and delusions.
I need to raise money to pay for tests that aren’t covered by my insurance.
If you are able to spare even a £1 to help I would be eternally grateful.
