Medical Costs for Michael Masciarelli
Spende geschützt
The last thing I thought we would ever have to do is ask our family, friends, and community for help... but, here we are.
Michael was diagnosed with stage 1a Hodgkin's Lymphoma in November 2019. After undergoing a successful biopsy and excision, he was told he was in remission, and the only follow up recommendation was 18 simple radiation treatments.
Fast forward to his 6 month follow up PET scan, which showed new involvement in an adjacent inguinal lymphnode. His team of Oncologists are recommending a second biopsy/excision, followed by 2+ cycles of chemotherapy.
The dilemma we are facing is that as a result of the financial damage caused by COVID19, Mike was laid off permanently from his job as of May 20, 2020. This means his insurance coverage terms, effective May 30, 2020. This is unfortunate, as his deductible and out of pocket responsibility have already been met for 2020. He can receive coverage under my health insurance, however, after the deductible and out of pocket are met for this, we will owe (combined with previously accrued charges) roughly $20,000.
I know in my heart that Michael can and will beat this. When the day comes, he deserves to have a clear head, and as you can imagine, owing $20,000 in medical bills will definitely inhibit that.
We are asking for anything you can spare. No amount is too little. And, given the current circumstances, if you're unable to donate, we will take all the prayers you have to spare.
God bless you all, and thank you for your support in Mike's journey.
