Help Support Jeff Taylor's Recovery
This past Labor Day, Jeff, his brother Mark, and their friend Billy were getting ready for the upcoming hunting season. Jeff was in a deer stand when he was swarmed by wasps. Being allergic, he quickly tried to make his way down, but fell from the 25-30 ft stand. He was almost immediately unconscious and Billy and Mark performed life saving CPR. As they were in a remote wooded area, Mark had to drive to an area with cellphone reception to call 911. Jeff had to be lifeflighted from Hawkinsville to the nearest Level 1 Trauma Center in Macon. While waiting for the helicopter, EMTs had to insert chest tubes as both his lungs had collapsed and he had severe internal organ damage. Jeff has been heavily sedated since arriving at the hospital on Monday, and has undergone three separate surgeries to repair a hole in his diaphragm, have his spleen removed, have his crushed femur repaired, and have 11 cracked and broken ribs repaired.
Jeff's wife Vivian has barely left his side since the accident, and both his sons, Jarrod and Casey, have been in Macon, as well as various family members since the accident. While Jeff has insurance, his road to recovery is long and expensive. He is the primary breadwinner for his family, is self employed, and will be out of work for some time.
Anyone who knows Jeff knows that he is a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He is a beloved member of the Hawkinsville community and would readily come to the aid of others in times of need. We are raising money to help cover medical expenses and possible lost wages on his long-road to recovery.
Lynen and Leighton need their grandpa back to play with them, Casey and Jarrod need their dad, and Vivian needs her husband. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.
