For my best friend and a girl who is loved by many. Dawna Hardway is a senior Nursing major at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She is completing her BSN, starting her Doctorate and working at CAMC Memorial as a nurse extern. On August 28th, an oncologist diagnosed her with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The cancer was found after multiple car accidents that resulted in PET scans. Dawna is one of the most genuine, loving, caring and dedicated people I know. As a 21 year old girl, she takes care of both of her grandparents and pays for her own bills ranging from her car to her college tuition. At home she has the love and support of her father, who works in the coal industry as well as a helps fix gas lines and excavating to pay the necessary bills for the family. Even prior to COVID-19, her father has been laid off which has made it very difficult to keep up with finances. The additional medical costs that Dawna and her father are about to face is extensive, as insurance is not a helping factor in their situation. The love and support from anyone who is willing to donate to this beautiful girl in order to help her out is very much appreciate. She is genuine, she is pure and for that she will come out strong.
