Medical costs for Blake

Our dear friend Kate is going through an incredibly difficult time. Kate is one of the most beautiful souls, she is an incredible friend, works in animal welfare, is heavily involved in the basketball community and volunteers her time as a member of the CFA (as well as countless other things). She is the first person to assist you in a crisis and never asks for a thing in return. She is so selfless in her support of others that it is time we supported her.
As most of us know, her best friend and beautiful great dane and rescue dog Blake is slowly recovering from major surgery to remove part of his lung as on friday night it collapased and tore open inside his chest cavity. Blake is 4 years old and in perfect health. This is a complete shock. The expected cost of the surgery and recovery is $18,000 (yes you read that right) if he is released on Tuesday (11/6/19) and is going to rise if he is required to stay in any longer.
As all responsible pet owners should, Kate has pet insurance in case of an emergency such as this one. Unfortunately it will only cover a maximum of $11,000 of the cost of the surgery and recovery. We have set a goal of $8000 to be raised to allow Kate to not have to stress about finding the remaining $7000 to pay the gap and to give her some money to look after Blake and recover from the emotional toll this has taken.
Kate and I have been friend for almost 25 years and in that time she has asked for nothing. She is always the one to provide the support. It would be incredible to be able to gift Kate enough money to cover some or all of her costs. Please give whatever you can to help her out. I am sure Blake will repay you in kisses and lap cuddles once he is better.
