Medical costs for battling lupus

Hi, I've been Kendra’s best friend since elementary school and since then I’ve been by her side in everything from graduating high school, to standing by her side at her wedding, to seeing her raise two happy boys. Unfortunately another thing I’ve been by her side through is her getting sick and finding out she has lupus. She was officially diagnosed with Lupus in 2017 along with a life threatening blood clotting disorder. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue in many parts of the body. She suffers from rashes, joint pain, swelling, fatigue, peeling skin, mouth sores, hair loss, inflammation in her heart, lungs, spleen, and liver as well as low platelets, teeth breaking down, injuries not healing, low blood pressure, high fevers, seizures, nerve pain, osteopenia and the list goes on. She has to take expensive meds that aren’t fully covered by benefits, these meds suppress her immune system which makes her a high risk for infection, severely limiting her social life and who she can be around. She has to pay for her own scans as she can’t wait or it could be detrimental. She had a ankle injury and lupus is causing her ankle to not heal and has caused more complications, so she needs a big surgery to remove a whole bone and some tendons. She is looking at a year+ of recovery as well as weekly physio and will need childcare for her boys. On top of all of this, the stress on her body from this disease along with the harsh meds has caused her hair to fall out forcing her to shave her head. All of these expenses are just getting to be too much for her family. Dealing with this disease has been an uphill battle with tons of setbacks. Sadly for a quite a while there have been more setbacks than triumphs. Yet somehow through all of this Kendra always manages to put it all aside to be the best mom and wife she can be. The last thing she wants is a handout but I know this is something she absolutely needs in order to get the best care she can possibly get and get back on her feet! She is such a giving, selfless person and is so deserving of this. Thank you to everyone who helps with this cause! Anything helps!
