Where do I start? So over the last year, my health has continually deteriorated, to the point that I’m that guy asking for help. To give a snapshot, I’ve been to the ER 9 times in the last 3 months alone, and continue to suffer from C diff (a superbug), SIBO (a lifelong gut issue), and now potentially gasteoparisis (a nerve to gut issue), an autoimmune disease (there could be several), or other rare systemic immune disorders. As you can imagine, the stress of not knowing the root cause to an illness is all encompassing, as well as the financial burden trying to do every test possible. My current potential test is a SmartPill, which is relatively new and will cost $2000 if not covered by insurance. I tried to do an FMT, but that could cost up to $5000, my medications alone are expensive, and the bills from seeing 6 specialists in 4 months, 11 in 13 months are coming with a cost.
UPDATE: Ive been made aware of another possible test for Lyme disease that can cost $500-2500 as insurance and the CDC don’t cover them. I’ve increased the limit to reflect that need, thank you all for understanding.
I’ve been unable to work over summer, and recently have had to miss work until we find a treatment. Right now, I have multiple vitamin deficiencies from only being able to eat plain chicken and white rice. My body can’t sustain much, and I’ve lost 20 pounds in 2 months. With that, the concern now is IV treatments to get me nutrients, which may be lifelong if my GI issues continue.
If I could be personal with whomever is reading this, this has tried the depth of my strength and resilience. Waking up and moving takes 110% effort, and I’ve never been this sick for this long with no end date in sight. Food has become the thing I fear the most. I hate the thought of going to sleep because that means I’m going to have to deal with all of this again. The amount of suffering I’ve endured has been more than I’ve had before. If you feel like donating, that would be incredible, but also just knowing and thinking or praying for me would be such a huge relief, because I truly cant do this on my own anymore.
