As embarrassing as this is for myself as a mother I need help… Friday March 4th 2022 my very energetic 7 year old fell at school, landed on his elbow causing it to hurt to the point where he couldn’t move it. That day I took him to an urgent care who advised it was fractured and suggested he see an orthopedic specialist ASAP (he is currently in a splint). We were able to get an appointment Wednesday March 9th 2022 with the orthopedic. The orthopedic doctor then advised his elbow is in fact broken and he will need to have something (forgot what she called it) in his elbow region moved forward and 2 pins placed to help his elbow heal, then he will be placed in a hard cast. The orthopedic doctor advised he will need to have the procedure done next day (March 10th, 2022). However the financial department informed me that I will have to pay $2,423.91 today (March 9th, 2022) to proceed with procedure. They did also advise I could pay half that and be set on a payment plan… however again as embarrassing as it is to say, I have less than $70 to my name (probably will be negative soon with upcoming automatic bills). I do not have any of the money to get my son’s procedure done. I am asking for the $3,000.00 due to follow up appointments he will need to have after the procedure is done. And yes I have insurance thru my work BUT I have to meet an individual deductible of $3K before the insurance can start covering out of pocket costs, which I only have had $180.00 towards the deductible so insurance is out of the question. It hurts asking for this type of help and if it wasn’t for my son I wouldn’t be doing it. Anything helps even a share! Thank you so much! Questions, comments or concerns don’t hesitate to reach out to me, Kayla.
