Medical cost and surgery

Hola, mi nombre es Mireya, y les escribo para pedir ayuda para mi hermana, Blanca González.

Mi hermana está pasando por una situación de salud muy delicada. Padece de lento aprendizaje que le impide valerse por sí misma, y ahora su salud física también se ha deteriorado gravemente.

Recientemente se le diagnosticó una serie de complicaciones médicas graves:

• Su estómago está extremadamente distendido, lleno de aire y líquido, y las paredes del estómago están engrosadas, lo que le provoca un dolor abdominal constante.

• Los doctores dicen que puede ser una obstrucción parcial en el intestino.

• Su vejiga también está gravemente afectada. Las paredes están hinchadas hasta 10 mm, lo cual no es normal.

• Tiene una infección urinaria persistente y, lo más delicado, una fístula entre la vejiga y el útero, lo que hace que no pueda controlar la orina y sufra infecciones una tras otra.

Esta condición solo puede corregirse con una cirugía especializada de la vejiga, ya que hubo una fuga de medio de contraste que confirma la existencia de esta conexión anormal entre la vejiga.

Además, anteriormente fue mal operada del tobillo en el seguro social, y necesitará una segunda cirugía correctiva. Sin embargo, la prioridad urgente ahora es su vejiga, para que no siga sufriendo ni corriendo el riesgo de infecciones peligrosas.

Como familia, estamos haciendo todo lo posible, pero los costos médicos son muy altos, y no contamos con los recursos necesarios para cubrir esta cirugía vital y los tratamientos posteriores.

Por eso, humildemente les pedimos su apoyo. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que parezca se les agradecerá.

Hello, my name is Mireya , and I’m writing to kindly ask for your help on behalf of my sister, Blanca González.

My sister is going through a very delicate health crisis. She has a learning disability that prevents her from being able to care for herself, and now her physical health has also taken a serious turn for the worse.

She was recently diagnosed with several severe medical complications:

• Her stomach is extremely swollen, filled with air and fluid, and the stomach walls are thickened, which causes her constant abdominal pain.

• Doctors suspect a partial obstruction in her intestines.

• Her bladder is also severely affected, with the walls swollen up to 10 mm, which is not normal.

• She has a persistent urinary tract infection, and most critically, a fistula between her bladder and uterus. This prevents her from controlling her urine and leads to ongoing infections.

This condition can only be corrected with a specialized bladder surgery, as tests have confirmed the presence of an abnormal connection where there’s a leakage from the bladder to the uterus.

On top of all this, she previously had a ankle surgery done incorrectly at the hospital, and she will need corrective surgery in the future. However, the most urgent concern right now is her bladder, which is causing her great pain and to avoid further dangerous infections.

As a family, we are doing everything we can, but the medical costs are overwhelming, and we don’t have the financial means to cover this critical surgery and her ongoing care.
