Medical costs and living expenses for Aaron Ruecker and his family
Alexandra Lewis and Tamara Ruecker are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Aaron Ruecker and his family.
On 8/25/20, Aaron Ruecker- an Army Veteran, loving partner to Kelsey Joseph and father of a fifteen month old son, was shot and sustained serious injuries while trying to protect staff and customers from two armed robbers at a local Portland restaurant and bar. He is currently in the hospital and has already had two surgeries this week to try to repair the damage caused by the 9mm bullet that hit his lower stomach and shattered his pelvis. The first surgery was an emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and remove the bullet lodged in his pelvic bone. Two days later a second surgery was performed to remove bone fragments from his bladder caused by the shattered pelvic bone. More surgeries will be needed to repair his body. Aaron is facing a long road to recovery with a lot of healing and physical therapy ahead of him. His girlfriend Kelsey is currently taking unpaid time off work so she can be with Aaron and care for their fifteen month old son, A.J. They are going to need help covering Aaron's medical expenses and their families living expenses as Aaron will not be able to work for at least six months while he recovers from this horrible tragedy.
