Standing by My Mom After a Life-Changing Injury
In late August, my mom underwent a life-saving decompressive craniotomy following a severe brain injury. Just a few weeks later, she required another emergency procedure to treat an epidural hematoma.
The recovery process has been long and demanding. My mom is currently working hard through rehabilitation, and I’ve stepped into the role of full-time caregiver, managing her appointments, medications, and daily care at home. Each day brings gradual progress, and we’re doing everything we can to support her continued recovery.
Along with managing her medical care, we’re also facing another major challenge — we’re currently without stable housing and searching for a safe, accessible rental where my mom can continue her recovery. Finding a home that meets her needs has become our top priority, alongside ensuring she receives the therapy and follow-up care required for her recovery.
While we wait for Medicaid and other assistance programs to process, many of her medical, therapy, and housing-related expenses remain out of pocket. I’ve created this fundraiser to help cover:
Medical bills and rehabilitation costs not yet covered by assistance
Transportation for ongoing appointments
Home care needs and accessibility items once housing is secured
Temporary lodging and rental costs as we search for a permanent home
Basic living expenses during this transition period
Every contribution helps relieve some of the financial pressure and allows us to focus on what matters most — helping my mom regain safety, stability, and independence after this life-changing event.
Thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and support as we navigate this next chapter together.

With gratitude,
