SWIM & ASAS for Refugees
Tax deductible
As many of you are aware, millions of people continue to suffer the aftermath of the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey three months ago. The Syrian refugee population, an already vulnerable group that fled their war-torn homes years ago, was hit especially hard by the earthquake.
Stanford Women in Medicine (SWIM) and the Arab Students Association of Stanford (ASAS) are partnering to fundraise for The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS ) Foundation, a global medical relief organization that is working on the front lines of crisis relief in Syria and beyond to alleviate suffering and save lives.
SAMS has a track record of providing assistance and free healthcare not only to Syrian refugees, but also to other vulnerable populations in many countries including Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Greece, Bosnia, Egypt, and Ukraine. Most recently, SAMS has been at the forefront of leading medical relief efforts, providing lifesaving surgeries and healthcare for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
With your support, SAMS will continue to address the specialized health needs of earthquake victims, including ongoing medical care, physical therapy, prosthetics, dialysis, mental health services, and child protection support. They will also work to repair damaged medical facilities, replace non-functional equipment, and respond to outbreaks of communicable diseases. On April 23, they were featured on CBS 60 Minutes for their work. For additional information about SAMS, here is a copy of their most recent annual report.
100% of your donations through this link will go directly to SAMS to help continue their life-saving mission. Let us come together and help alleviate some of the suffering. Your donation will go a long way in providing much-needed medical care and humanitarian aid. Please donate generously.
