Medical Care for Surrenity and Baby Blessing
Friends, family, and wider community, we reach out today with an urgent call for help. My daughter and beloved one, Surrenity, a single mom-to-be, was neglected at the hands of medical practitioners. A well-hidden flaw in the healthcare world that we hope to be a source of healing, love, and wellness has made itself known - Surrenity was abruptly left without holistic care due to medical neglect and the ability to pay for it. Both societal and health system factors contribute to high rates of poor health outcomes and maternal mortality for black women like Surrenity, who experience unacceptably poor maternal health outcomes, including barriers to obtaining quality care.
In addition to this, she has been greatly impacted by Covid-19. Her work as a professional in the entertainment industry has been upended indefinitely since March 2020, leaving her without consistent income and union insurance. Due to the stage of her pregnancy, she is unable to work. She needs your help to pay for holistic medical care for her wellbeing and that of her child - due any day now.
Surrenity's out of pocket medical expenses are $6,000. Your generous donation and willingness to share this story will go directly towards Surrenity’s medical expenses related to childbirth - prenatal and postpartum care.
