Medical Care for my Toy Poodle, Lotus
My 7 year old emotional support dog is in a diabetic crisis and needs extensive medical care. She has a high chance of recovery as long as she remains hospitalized to receive the emergency medical care that she so desperately needs.
Lotus was a stray pup when she came into my life when she was barely one years old. I was diagnosed with CPTSD and a chronic digestive illness (SIBO) and my mental health was deteriorating at the time. She has been there for me in my time of need, keeping me grounded and loved me unconditionally. When I would pass out due to my illness, she would nudge me until I woke up or would bark to alert others.
She is a brilliant and beautiful little girl so worthy of life. She saved mine and I could never repay her for what she did to me, but I love her with every fiber of my being like she is my own child.
Lotus was genetically predisposition to have digestive issues and diabetes, and when her vet advised me to switch her diet her little system simply couldn't handle it. I don't blame the vet because I know she advised me based on what worked for other dogs, but little Lotus didn't react very well and began vomiting profusely (17 times) within a 24 hour period. She couldn't even hold water down and became severely dehydrated. I rushed her to ER and she was diagnosed with Diabetic Ketoacidosis and Acute Pancreatitis.
She's been in the hospital now for 4 days and put on antibiotics as well as given a feeding tube because she is unable to eat. I can't lose her, but the medical costs have caused severe financial distress.
I am a new small business owner so I haven't made any profits, I am just a single mom going through some serious transitions in my life that have caused my CPTSD to be triggered and through me into a state of depression. I am fighting every day to ensure I continue to be the caregiver that Lotus needs and so rightfully deserves.
I have been homeless before and never asked for a single dime, and it pains me to even be in a position to have ask for help now. But this isn't help for me, this is help for my beloved Lotus. My life would be empty without her and I know she is a little fighter.
If you can afford even just $1, I would be eternally grateful. 100% of the money will go toward her medical expenses and care. She will require lifelong medication and insulin, but she will still have a chance at a great quality of life. I will be updating on her health regularly.
We are currently incurring debt as a result, which will affect my small business to be able to provide.
Thank you eternally and most humbly for any help I receive. As an avid pet lover myself I have given to many causes because I know how much our fur babies are not just pets, they are FAMILY.
Blessings
