My name is Aline McKenzie, a longtime kitten fosterer. Sister Boom Boom is a fluffy 5-week-old kitten we've been fostering with his brother RuPaul. Kittens are always underfoot, and today Boom Boom got stepped on and seriously injured. He is at the Veterinary Emergency Group in Dallas with a traumatic brain injury. He's breathing on his own but has limited movement on his right side. X-rays show no damage to his skull, neck, or spine. Boom Boom is a wonderful kitten - sweet-natured, affectionate, playful. He and RuPaul have already fought off parasites and other problems that plague young orphaned kittens, and have a wonderful couple already wanting to adopt them. We're all devastated by this accident and want to give him every chance. His prognosis is unclear, so we're counting on the resiliency of young nervous systems. We're also counting on the support of our community. The initial visit cost $443, and he remains hospitalized. The vet estimates his total care at $2,600 to $4,500. Any money left over will be donated to North Texas Cat Rescue.
